Students

On this page we have included a two interviews about learning online. The people you are going to watch were studying for an MA at Manchester University. One of the clips has captions with the questions that were asked, the other does not. As you listen think about which one is easier to follow. Do the captions distract  or do they help you focus on what you expect the speakers to say?

Before you listen, predict the kind of questions you expect to hear and what you think the speakers will say.

1) Postgraduate student talking about her previous experience of online learning

2) A postgraduate student talking about why he decided to study and how he uses the online element of the courses offered to full-time students.

Did you find that watching the speakers helped your understanding? Could you close your eyes and understand the speakers as well? What additional help did the video give you?
